Name of the project : Women Game Changers Programme

This initiative focuses on promoting, recruiting, retaining, and empowering women across
all areas of our business. We are committed to refining our strategies continuously, ensuring
that we not only foster an inclusive environment but also lead the way in innovation and
leadership in gender equality.
2. PROJECT INFORMATION
Project presentation (max 150 words):
Virtuos is driving gender equality in the gaming industry through its Women Game Changers Programme, aiming for
40% women representation by 2025. This initiative focuses on four pillars: promoting inclusivity, recruiting diverse
talent, retaining and empowering women, and data-driven assessments.
? Promotion of Inclusivity: industry-wide diversity events for employees, students, and professionals, while
partnering with organizations like Women in Games to amplify visibility and collaboration.
? Recruitment of Diverse Talent: Implementing unbiased hiring processes, unconscious bias training for
recruiters, scholarships for female students, and outreach campaigns to inspire a robust talent pipeline.
? Retention and Empowerment: Ensuring equitable advancement, flexible work policies, parental leave support,
and facilities like breastfeeding rooms. Initiatives like #IamRemarkable workshops empower women to own their
achievements, reshaping workplace culture.
? Data-Driven Accountability: Regular gender pay gap analyses and progress audits ensure transparency and
refine strategies.
Future goals amplify this impact: Expand unconscious bias training company-wide, enforce “Equal Pay for Equal
Work” through rigorous audits, establish diverse hiring panels, and scale mentorship programs to cultivate female
leaders.
2. PROJECT INFORMATION
The strengths of your project (four or five key arguments) – Max 500 words:
1. Holistic Gender Inclusivity Promotion
Virtuos integrates gender inclusivity into its core values through strategic partnerships with organizations like Women in Games and Women in Animation. These collaborations amplify female visibility in
gaming by creating platforms for advocacy and mentorship. For example, to commemorate International Women’s Day in China, we partnered with Women in Games Asia to co-host the first ever all-inChinese online forum, titled \"Invest in Women, Accelerate Progress.\" This forum featured two panels: ‘Sharing of DEI Best Practices’ and ‘My Career Journey’. The event attracted over 130 attendees
and provided a platform for DEI group discussions and sharing insights from women at various career stages within the industry. This forum was instrumental in advocating for a more inclusive and
supportive workplace environment, enabling women to freely and fully pursue their aspirations.
2. Unbiased Training and Recruitment Guideline
To cultivate an equitable environment, we organized unconscious bias training sessions at our Shanghai, Chengdu, and Xi'an studios. These sessions involved key leaders and recruitment team
members and have been crucial in promoting a cultural shift within our organization. Additionally, we implemented Recruitment Guidelines Training across all recruitment levels to ensure fairness in our
hiring processes.
3. Empowerment Through Retention & Supportive Policies
? Virtuos retains women through equitable policies: transparent promotion criteria, equal pay audits, and flexible work arrangements. Parental support, including lactation rooms and extended leave,
addresses career-break challenges. The #IamRemarkable workshops empower women to champion their achievements, fostering a culture of recognition. Together, these measures reduce turnover
and advance women into leadership roles, aligning retention with diversity goals.
? Our talent development initiatives, like the Mini-MBA, Executive Program Management (a collaboration with CCIFC and SEKMA), and the Middle Manager Advancement Camp, upskill comprehensive
leaders, fostering technological and strategic innovation.
4. Data-Driven Accountability with Gender Diversity Assessments
A comprehensive Gender Diversity Assessment tracks progress across four pillars: promotion, recruitment, retention, and representation. Studios are scored as Beginner to Leader, with results reviewed
in CSR meetings. One-on-one interviews with employees provide grassroots insights, informing studio-specific action plans. This iterative process ensures accountability while empowering teams to own
their diversity goals, blending top-down strategy with bottom-up feedback.
5. Community Engagement & Future Talent Cultivation
? CSR is central to Virtuos’ core values of excellence, trust, and positivity. We are committed to enhancing standards for clients and employees, reducing our environmental impact, and supporting local
communities. In partnership with NetSpring, we have established 5 Green IT Classrooms across China, providing underserved students with access to technology and environmental education. For
four consecutive years, Virtuos employees have volunteered as mentors, guiding students to create eco-themed artworks that raise awareness of sustainability. Additionally, we proudly support the
FCEM art competition, further nurturing creativity and environmental consciousness in the younger generation.
? Virtuos extends its impact beyond corporate walls through school partnerships. A prime example of our engagement efforts is the “Virtuos She Power” series, which has made significant impacts at
institutions like Chengdu University of Information Engineering and the University of Electronic Science and Technology. Through these events, employees from our Chengdu studio share their
professional experiences, offering career planning and counseling aimed at nurturing female students’ early career development in animation and gaming-related majors. The events have attracted
116 female students, with over 70% expressing interest in joining the gaming industry and more than 90% aspiring to join Virtuos post-graduation.
? Our scholarship program (total value: 1.71M CNY) prioritizes diversity, with 52 female recipients (70% of total scholarships) in 2023, fostering gender equity in technology. By fostering the inclusion of
more female talent within the industry, we aim to create a transformative shift that will result in truly impactful and rewarding experiences for gamers and game creators alike.
Virtuos’ strength lies in its multifaceted approach: combining policy reform, education, and data transparency to dismantle barriers for women. By addressing equity at every stage, from recruitment to
leadership. These efforts underscore Virtuos’ belief that diversity is not just an aspiration but a catalyst for innovation and growth.
